The Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ICI) carries out various initiatives to strengthen the R&D and innovation ecosystem in Istanbul by enhancing the R&D and technology development capacities of regional industry and facilitating companies’ access to national and international R&D and innovation funds.
Within this scope, the Istanbul Project Academy was launched in 2022 with the support of the Innovative Istanbul Financial Support Program of the Istanbul Development Agency. The Academy played an active role in the implementation of R&D and innovation projects supported by EU funds and successfully completed its first phase following an intensive implementation period of one and a half years.
In its second phase, the Istanbul Project Academy continues to provide training, information, consortium building, and matchmaking services within the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN). By strengthening the capacities of public institutions, entrepreneurs, industry, and academia, the Istanbul Project Academy supports the establishment of international collaborations.
Istanbul Project Academy will create an empowering effect for all industrial companies and universities at the Istanbul region level by supporting and contributing to the efforts of TÜBİTAK, the national contact point of the Horizon Europe program, to increase participation and success rate from Turkey.
While the Istanbul Project Academy takes the Horizon Europe program as its main target, it is aimed to be a structure that continues its activities in the next R&D and innovation framework programs of the European Union. For this reason, it is aimed to include all stakeholders in the ecosystem within this structure and to expand the scope of the Istanbul Project Academy by expanding it.
